Charges fine but the label for everything is just crappy sticker that is peeling off already when you open it. It looks like protecting fill but don't pull it or your amps and volts indicators are gone ,pathetic either print them on the plastic or just make them raised as part of mold. Other wise works fine but that alone is an indicator of poor quality to me what else did they cheap out on?I received a sample of the Nitecore SC2 Super Charger for evaluation. It can individually charge two cells, and is compatible with a wide selection of rechargeable batteries, including 18650 Lithium ion, and AA, AAA, C, and D size Ni-MH cells. The SC2 is a smart charger which is able to determine the type of battery that is inserted, and then select an appropriate charging mode. The blue LED display blinks while charging is in progress, and then stops when charging is completed. The device supposedly has provisions that prevents overcharging. In some cases, the charging current can be manually adjusted up to a maximum of 3 amps, but I mostly went with the auto mode. The SC2 charger seems to be a reliable performer that typically gets the job done in within a few hours. The SC2 is packaged in different combinations with various accessories, such as with This rating is NOT for the performance of this unit, I'm sure it's a great charger, but the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because I thought the marking were permanently etched on the display but they are actually on the protective film? What the hell??.. It just makes no sense. If you remove the plastic film it looks like one of those cheap toy from the 1980's with a bunch of blinking LED lights. Is Nitecore trying to save few bucks by going on the cheap side? I received the charger and returned the following day only because of that issue. Once Nitecore decide to do do it the right (with the marking permanently etched on the display) I will purchase it again. And by the way, I contacted Nitecore regarding this matter but they never responded or answered my question.charger gets burn your hand hot while charging, and uncomfortably hot while just plugged in with no cells in it. The thing definitely needs ventilation and the case does not provide any. + terminal also gets very hot and leaks heat into the battery. You can definitely get something better for the money. Also as another reviewer mentioned there are no markings on the plastic as to which setting you are. You'd wonder how so many corners could be cut on what you'd think is a premium charger, but then you learn this is a chinese company and honestly they don't care. Their customer service wont even respond.I got this for free as part of another purchase. It is really terrible:- it gets hot, especially the positive contacts, no cooling vents to speak of- smells like it is going to burn up any moment- makes random squeel noises- indicator labels are printed on the removable film- indicator labels are impossible to read unless you shine a light because the LEDs behind the label overpower it- button interface for voltage/current settings is kind of annoyingI dug deep to find a couple nice things to say:- seems to do a good job autodecting the charge current. Just plop a battery in and 16340 is 500mA, 18650 is 2A, etc.- negative contact sliders feel reeeal nice, can't stop playing with themI have like 25 chargers. The Opus BT-C3100 is my favorite so far.4 stars just becasue it's confusing what the charging lights are meaning. Still have no idea what the charger is doing, however batteries get well charged so the unit does what it's mean to. Recommend for performance !Item sold in the UK but they are not UK spec. They are old German style with German instructions and a 2 pin EU C7 plug, not a 3 pin C7. Request made to immediately return for refund.
